Webinar: Plants in Art vs. Plants as Art

posted by

We’re familiar with plants as inspiration for artists in many mediums. Think Monet’s Water Lilies, 16th Century Dutch Masters Floral Still Lives, Georgia O’Keeffe’s Calla Lilies. There’s also art made with plants. Think Andy Goldsworthy and Patrick Dougherty’s branching masterpieces.

But what about plants as art? We welcome back Native Plant expert Joan Pont (from the California Native Plant Society). She’ll discuss how we can integrate native plants into our landscape by looking at them as art. Joan will introduce 10 California native plants with sculptural qualities that can stand in your garden as art masterpieces (and less expensive than a Henry Moore sculpture). Some large, some small, some with delicate features you will need to search for and then be amply rewarded, some with instant wow-appeal. Branch out and broaden your plant art appreciation; find your own special additions to your garden.
