Yesterday Martha Stewart featured unusual black plants on her tv show. We love black/dark foliage plants for the eye catching combinations you can create. The new Ipomoea Chipotle (pictured below) really caught her eye. But, even Martha will have to wait until Spring 2013 to get this plant. It won’t be released for another year.
In the meantime, you can create black vs. white contrast in the garden with the following plants (call ahead for availability–new selections are always arriving in our stores):
Black Alocasia, Artemesia, Lysimachia,Black Mondo grass, black leaved begonias, black and white hellebore, Oxalis, Heuchera, Phormium Platt’s Black.
