New Roses for 2014

Home | Gardening | New Roses for 2014

January is often a quiet month in the garden, but not if you’re planting roses. 2014 roses have arrived in our stores and are ready to be planted.

Tahitian Treasure™ represents a breakthrough in breeding as one of the first garden roses with all the great attributes of a landscape shrub rose –strong color, good habit, good flowering density, good re-bloom, and very disease resistant. It is hardy to zone 5.

Fired Up™ has a very unique and striking color. The color can best be described as yellow and bright orange striped, finishing blood orange. The color does not fade in the heat or when finishing and it re-blooms well. It has very good tolerance to rust and mildews. Fired Up™ is best recommended for the dry climates of the West.

Mercury Rising™ is a seedling of the popular Hybrid Tea rose, Gemini. It has similar coloration and a great exhibition type flower, but it is much more vigorous with glossier foliage. Mercury Rising™ would make a perfect flower for cutting.
