Be prepared for hot Bay Area weather with these tips:
The key to hot weather plant care is to irrigate early in the day, and deeply. Note: some plants like fuchsias and impatiens may wilt in the heat, even though they’ve been watered, but they should recover.
Unless absolutely necessary, don’t water in the middle of the day (fast evaporation makes for inefficient watering).
Don’t hose plants down in the full sun. This practice can promote fungus spread and sunburn.
Remember to check on your houseplants. They need water, too!
