
It's simple: Your community shops at Sloat Garen Center during any of our six yearly Growing Up Green fundraising sessions and mentions your school's name at checkout. We donate 10% of their pre-tax purchases back to your school as a Sloat gift card. That's it!Â
Bonus opportunity: The school with the highest total sales during each fundraising session receives double the donation (20% instead of 10%).Â
What you can do with your gift card: Use it for school gardening supplies, classroom plant materials, raffle prizes, auction items, or any other fundraising needs throughout the year.Â
The key to success: Getting the word out! The more people in your community who know about the fundraising sessions, the more money you'll raise. Share the news through emails, newsletters, flyers, and your school website.Â

Step 1: Sign Up Once - Complete our application form at least 2 weeks before the first fundraising session you want to participate in. Once processed, you're automatically eligible for ALL SIX fundraising sessions throughout the school year, every year! No need to choose specific dates or reapply. Step 2: Get Ready to Fundraise - You can participate in any or all six fundraising sessions. There's no need to notify us which ones you plan to use.Â
Step 3: Spread the Word (This is critical!) - Before each fundraising session, we'll email you a reminder notice and promotional flyers to share with your community. Your success depends entirely on how many people know about the fundraising sessions. Distribute these through:Â
Step 4: Shop & Earn - During each of our fundraising sessions, your community can shop at any of the 13 Sloat Garden Center locations and mention your school's name to the cashier at check out. We track the schools and tabulate the results. Your school receives a gift card by mail about 2-3 weeks after each fundraising session ends.Â
