How to grow Tarragon
Tarragon is not a fussy herb…give it a little care and you’ll soon have a prolific amount to flavor meat dishes, sauces and dressings.
As for sunlight, tarragon likes it full in the morning and light shade in the afternoons, so avoid planting in full sun where the leaves might burn. It will grow in any well-drained soil and is happy in containers.
Tarragon grows by slowly spreading creeping rhizomes; then the stems become slightly woody as they get larger. The plant grows to less than 2 feet high and dies to the ground in winter. Divide it every 3 or 4 years to keep vigorous. Propagate by divisions or cuttings. Needs moderate to regular water.
